Senior Technical Engineer - IT Network

This position is part of the IT Infrastructure team in Aker BP, and we are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer for IT Network. The IT Infrastructure team are responsible for the overall Network and Network security infrastructure within IT onshore and offshore. Together with our service partner we ensure that the Aker BP IT infrastructure is built and operated according to relevant regulations and best practices.
In this role, you will participate in projects and follow up the day-to-day operations and incidents. We work together with our Service Provider in a #OneTeam model, and they are responsible for the day-to-day operations. In this role you will also contribute to design and strategy processes ensuring the end-to-end service lifecycle.
Typical work tasks can be:
- Follow up on day-to-day activities, operations or on-going projects
- You will provide support and advice to the business
- You are active in the technical dialogue with Aker BP vendors, stakeholders and providers
- You will investigate and participate in the implementation of new technologies
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and Experience – In this role we are looking for a person with the right IT Network Infrastructure background. You should preferably have a relevant IT education as a foundation; Either from a University or an IKT Degree Certificate (Norwegian: IKT Fagbrev). You must have relevant experience within Infrastructure and Network. Your education and relevant experience should add up to 15+ years.
- You have experience from one or more technologies: the Cisco Family, Security technology and firewalls, Cloud Networking (Azure). We would also prefer if you had some experience from the O&G Industry having a basic understanding of OT Infrastructure.
- You are used to working with network planning, designs and stakeholder engagement
- You should also have an interest in IT Infrastructure designs and architecture, and you are able to see the full picture
- The successful applicant will be given the necessary training to succeed
- Fluent abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
