Joining our Exploration and Reservoir Development Excellence team you will be an integrated part of operations, reservoir and overburden characterization, rock physics evaluation, maturing exploration prospects and supporting our digital transformation. Typical work tasks can be:
- Leading the petrophysical agenda and integration with other G&G and multi-disciplinary subsurface teams.
- Contribute to identification of Exploration targets by conducting regional studies and participate in actives related to licence management, APA applications and new play evaluation.
- Provide petrophysical expert knowledge to support discovery, drilling and development of tight reservoirs, including guidance on routine and special core analysis and establishment of Saturation Height Functions.
- Ensure proper short and long-term surveillance plans covering field development plans.
- Prepare safe, cost effective and valuable data acquisition plans for exploration, appraisal and reservoir development. Take responsibility during operations, conduct interpretations and communicate learnings into multi-disciplinary teams.
- Selection of LWD tools to be included in exploration and production well BHA’s.
- Prepare wireline programs for exploration wells.
- Define pressure testing and fluid sampling strategies.
- Contribute to establishment of optimal coring and sidewall coring programs.
- Geo-steering knowledge and contribution to optimal placement of production wells.
- Petrophysical input with regards to completion of production wells and optimal production packer placement.
- Conduct safe real time operations with high quality input to ensure high quality wellbore data acquisition.
- Provide petrophysical expert knowledge for intervention and water shut off (WSO) operations.
- Integrate petrophysical data with geophysical and geological data and models to better understand, models, predict reservoir performance and create comprehensive reservoir characterization models.
- Conduct regional interpretation and ensure consistency across data sets from open hole logs, pressure, core and fluid analysis.
- Identifying potential drilling hazards and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Identify sone of inflow (SOI) and provide petrophysical input for Blow-out & Kill evaluation
- Rock physics support by conducting Lithology and Fluid Prediction (LFP) interpretation as input for seismic scenario testing.
- Continuously search for digitalization improvements that unlock potential or increase efficiency. Opportunity to play an active role in developing new codes and Augmented/Machine learning routines.
Skills and qualifications:
- MSc in subsurface discipline or mathematics/physics.
- Minimum 10 years of experience within Petrophysics, formation evaluation. Reservoir characterization and field integration studies of which at least 5 years with an operator.
- Work experience from Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering as well as Drilling to interface other disciplines in discussions.
- Manage to deal with uncertainty, ambiguity and able to prioritize workload and task.
- Understanding how data can be made available, interpreted, visualized and used as a basis for various recommendations and decisions.
- High level of experience and understanding of LWD and wireline tool physics.
- Python coding skills are considered advantageous.
- Experienced practitioner in both analytical methods and software (Preferably Techlog).
- Fluent in English. Good knowledge of the Norwegian language is advantageous.
