Application Service Manager - Projects

We are looking for Application Service Manager for the Project ( PRO ) portfolio. The PRO portfolio consists today of 10+ applications (PIMS, Proteus, Safran among others) and the budget is around 15mnok.  

 

The application Service Manager oversees offshore handheld device applications, crucial for digital work offshore. These applications facilitate real-time work and communication, empowering offshore workers. Aker BP aims for 95% of offshore work to be HHE based by 2027. 

 

The Application Service Manager will be accountable for the portfolio, including operations, governance, engineering and have the end-to-end responsibility for the service lifecycle incl. development, enhancement, delivery and decommission of the service 

Aker BP is in a transition to a new operating supplier (TietoEvry) and the right candidate will be involved in shaping our new operating model.  

Typical tasks will include:   

  • Coordinate application management with team from service provider (TietoEvry)  

  • Participates in strategy and roadmap development with System Owners and Architects to align with current and future business objectives.   

  • Provide a focus on application portfolio goals; maintenance, improvement, modernization, decommissioning and transformation. 

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the related systems, technical architecture, interfaces, and processes.   

  • Help monitor vendors plans and roadmaps.  

  • Directs activities related to release coordination, end-user communications, reporting, optimising licensing, and maintaining technology roadmaps.   

  • Monitor, manage, and report key performance metrics.   

  • Utilises organisational change management best practices to drive technology adoption, champion technologies and operations.  

Skills and qualifications:   

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline. Relevant experience can compensate for formal education  

  • Minimum of 5 years managing applications, systems, processes, and vendors, incl. 1+ years in IT team leadership managing technical teams and vendors.  

  • It is preferred that the candidate have professional experience related to Projects domain and familiar to handheld applications.  

  • Experience with vendor management, including responsibility for following up on contracts and vendor performance; has experience with tactical and strategic conversations with service providers etc.  

  • Experience applying financial management skills with operational budget tasks.  

  • Customer-focused mindset and strong ability to plan and prioritize   

  • Fluent in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
