Subsurface Manager - Reservoir Management

We are now looking for our new Valhall Reservoir Management Manager. This role is part of the Valhall Expres management team and reports to VP Exploration and Reservoir Development for Valhall. Valhall is an asset with exciting challenges, high operational activity and opportunities in the entire field development lifecycle – from Exploration to Abandonment. 

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Reservoir Management team for the Valhall area. This is a multidisciplinary team, consisting of Reservoir and Petroleum engineers with responsibility for the reservoir management and daily production optimalisation of the producing fields in the area. You will be closely working together with the Reservoir Characterization and Development and New Well Delivery team members and managers. 


Typical work tasks can be: 

  • Lead and develop the Reservoir Management team, including line management for ~12 team members across the Oslo and Stavanger office 
  • Daily production optimization in close collaboration with operations 
  • Optimization of drainage strategy and identification of new opportunities 
  • Justification and support of well interventions and well stimulation 
  • Justification and support of facility projects 
  • Reservoir surveillance planning and data acquisition 
  • Maturation and implementation of new well technologies and digital solutions in close collaboration with Digital Value Streams and Technology teams. 
  • Production and reserves reporting 
  • Contribution to Area Development Planning (ADP) 

 

Skills and qualifications:

  • MSc/PhD in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Exploration and Production with a robust reservoir or petroleum engineering background 
  • Leadership experience is preferred, but not required 
  • Proven track record of leading implementation of new technologies and digital solutions 
  • Fluent/good abilities in English and Norwegian
